The great get together in Lightwoods Park

If you are local to Bearwood, why not take a stroll down to Lightwoods Park on Sunday, if you're not already planning a meal out to treat Dad?! Bring your family, something to sit on, and a picnic, and if you can spare it, maybe bring along a dish for the communal table to share with everyone.

Like Jo Cox, I believe that we have more in common than that which divides us, and for me the international language of food is always a great leveller! It brings us together and allows us to sample a little of each others' lives.

On Sunday we will have a communal picnic table on the bandstand, where you are free to share a dish with people, or if you woud prefer, simply bring your own picnic and eat with your own family. I am busy thinking whether there is time for me to make my gran's recipe welsh cakes before Sunday!

We are also providing a selection of samosas and bhajees from local businesses for free, so please come along and meet your neighbours from 12 – 3pm this Sunday.
