Dear Friend of Lightwoods Park and House
This is an note to update you with regard to the progress made over the last few months on the Lightwoods Park and House Restoration project.
If you haven’t seen me in the park much recently this is because I have been busy compiling the documents for the Round 2 “Parks for People” Heritage Lottery Funded project. The documentation currently stands over 2 feet high!
The bid reports and plans will be reviewed over Christmas and then the final bid will be submitted to the lottery at the end of February 2013. We will then cross our fingers and await the decision on the funding in July 2013.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your hard work and support for the project, particularly those of you who carried out visitor surveys, manned consultation stands at events, undertook visitor observation studies, helped improve the Shakespeare Garden during the volunteer days, organised and volunteered for events, attended public meetings, and for all of you who recently got involved with the week long consultation roadshow event, especially those who commented on the proposals and filled out a survey. Your contributions are invaluable to the bid and every comment has been considered and will form part of the documentation. As ever your ongoing support is invaluable and I hope that this will continue in the future.
I am writing a ‘Statement of Support’ document which includes letters of support from council officials, partners and members of the community. If anyone would like to write a short paragraph of support for the bid then please either email it to me or send it in the post within the next month.
I hope you enjoy Bearwood On Ice 2012 which starts on Saturday!
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Lightwoods Park Project Officer
