Festival… and consultation

The postponed May Day Event at Lightwoods Park has been rescheduled and the Festival at Lightwoods Park is now set to take place Sunday 10th June 2012. The event which will run between 11.00am and 4.00pm will be action packed and will be a fun day for everyone.

We are looking for volunteers to help out either with stewarding at the event, litter picking, manning the Friends Group stall and undertaking consultation about the house and park and / or carrying out visitor surveys which will feed into the lottery bid round 2 submission. If you can help out at the event (you can help anytime between 9.00am and 4.30pm) please call or email me using the contacts at the top of this letter.

Aside from the forthcoming event, on Tuesday 12th June there is a Community Workshop being held at The Pavilion in Warley Woods where you can discuss some of the big issues that will help shape the revised masterplan for Lightwoods Park and House. Places are limited so you’ll need to book one at “http://www.tinyurl/lightwoodsworkshop” or phone Mike on 01562 887884 (please see poster attached).

Starting at 6pm, and running until 9pm, members of the design team will be on hand to help you consider: getting into and around the park, where the play area should be located and which spaces are best suited to events. But don’t worry if you can’t make it as this workshop is part of a series of consultation events that will be held throughout the summer and autumn.

If you have any questions about the restoration project then please get in touch with the project officer, Cherie O’Sullivan at cherie_osullivan@sandwell.gov.uk or by telephone on0121 569 4740.
